Grow through Everyday Challenges · Chapter 11
Big Feelings and Small Pauses
Chapter summary
After friends exclude fourteen-year-old Asha from plans, she shouts at her younger brother when her pencils spill. Her visiting aunt offers a safe pause, listens to the hurt beneath her anger, and helps her settle. Asha apologises without pretending the friendship problem is solved. The teaching distinguishes feelings from actions: anger can signal pain, but does not excuse harming others. Readers practise naming emotions, asking for a brief pause when safe, praying honestly, and seeking adult help with their next response. Persistent distress, disrupted sleep or schoolwork, or overwhelming feelings warrant trusted-adult support and possibly professional care; needing help is not spiritual failure.
