Faith with Other People · Chapter 7
When People Are Unkind
Chapter summary
Older students repeatedly mock Eli and block his way, leading him to avoid corridors and lunchtime club. Finn notices, listens, and accompanies him to a trusted teacher instead of offering to fight. With Eli's carer, school staff establish a safety plan and follow up; Eli remains worried but returns to club with support. The teaching connects justice, mercy and peace with practical protection, using the Samaritan's care as an example. Bullying is the aggressor's responsibility. Readers should identify two safe adults, report specific details, and keep telling if dismissed, including when an adult causes harm. Witnesses should help safely, avoid spreading humiliation, and seek urgent adult help for immediate danger.
