Grow through Everyday Challenges · Chapter 14
Forgiveness and Healthy Boundaries
Chapter summary
When Noah shares eleven-year-old Eli’s private story, Eli considers exposing Noah’s secret in retaliation. Instead, he tells his grandmother, and a teacher supports a conversation. Noah apologises, but Eli keeps personal information private while trust is rebuilt; the teacher checks whether others continue repeating the story. Forgiveness means releasing revenge, not excusing harm, forgetting it or restoring access immediately. Reporting wrongdoing and seeking fair protection remain appropriate. Readers describe their hurt to God, plan boundaries with a trusted adult, and practise a clear protective sentence. Direct conversation suits ordinary disagreements, not dangerous situations; frightened or threatened children should seek adult help, and tell another adult if the first does not help.
