Grow through Everyday Challenges · Chapter 15
Faith at Home
Chapter summary
Ten-year-old Finn resents clearing breakfast dishes because he wants to build a cardboard football stadium. His nan, who cares for him and his sister, assigns suitable jobs. After reluctantly helping, Finn apologises for shouting and explains his expectations. Together they plan chores and building time; later he invites his sister to repair a damaged cardboard wall rather than insulting her. Faith at home involves ordinary kindness, respectful disagreement and age-appropriate contributions across different family arrangements. Adults also have responsibilities, and children need not solve adult problems. Readers choose a suitable task, discuss ordinary disagreements calmly, and identify a safe adult. Honour never requires unsafe obedience or harmful secrecy; keep seeking outside help until someone responds.
