Chapter summary

Six weeks after Grandad’s death, Ruby still reaches for her phone to share drawings with him. She snaps at a schoolmate, withdraws to the library, then asks Mum why prayer did not make him well. Mum admits she does not know and stays with her. Songs and photographs bring both laughter and tears. Jesus’s tears, biblical lament and the Spirit’s help affirm that grief and unanswered questions belong within faith; death is not evidence of inadequate belief.
